Tutoring & editing

Are you a undergrad or postgrad student? I am able to coach/tutor students in certain social science subjects or in academic writing, one-to-one or in a group. If necessary, I can provide light editing advice on assignments as well. Currently, I am working with a MSc student.

I also accept work as an academic editor when time permits. Recent jobs include a Master's dissertation (MA Culture, Policy and Management at City University London) and a PhD thesis (PhD in Applied Linguistics by Thesis and Coursework at Lancaster University). Both clients passed very successfully (PhD thesis with no corrections). I'd be happy to put you in touch with them if you would like to know their feedback on my work. Recent samples of my own writing can be seen here. If you would like to check out my research experience please see my research page.

I prefer to work with writers collaboratively, to improve language, clarity, style and structure. If you are working in the social sciences, I may also be able to offer advice and guidance on content. This means that I will suggest and discuss possible changes rather than make them unilaterally, thus hopefully allowing writers to retain their 'voice'. Editing jobs are charged by the word (including front and back matter). I can also assist with the formatting and layout for an additional fee. I regret that I cannot accept jobs that require major rewriting due to language.

Interested? Please email me at hsia...@gmail.com to discuss it further.
